Privacy Policy
At Abbadh Labs, our mission is to transform fragmented data into predictive and actionable insights that help people make better decisions. We build tools like SABABAT and SABABAT Office to accelerate research around the world and make advanced analysis as accessible as possible — no installation, no setup, no coding — and to lift the fear of AI in research. We want to assist and accelerate research while keeping critical thinking, and the author's own decisions and thoughts, central to the process.
We at Abbadh Labs (together with our affiliates, "Abbadh Labs," "we," "our," or "us") are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone who uses our Services. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and disclose it, and the choices and rights available to you. It applies to SABABAT, SABABAT Office, and any other service or platform that links to this Policy (together, the "Services").
When you run a statistical analysis on SABABAT, your dataset is processed in real time and the results are returned directly to your browser — nothing about your underlying data or statistical output is stored on our servers. That processing stays local to your session: once it ends, we retain no copy of it. What we do save is the research topic you give us and the written research content SABABAT generates for you, so that you can return to, edit, and download your work later. We never sell your personal data to third parties.
1. Personal Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data through the Services:
- Account data — your name, email address, and password (stored hashed); if you sign in with Google, only your name and email are shared with us.
- Content you provide — the research topic, aims, and objectives you enter, along with any drafts, notes, or context you choose to add to guide your work.
- Content we generate for you — the chapters and research content SABABAT produces based on what you provide.
- Statistics and analysis data — datasets you upload for statistical analysis. This is processed locally in your browser and is not stored on our servers; see the note above.
- Payment data — handled directly by our payment processors (Paystack and Flutterwave). We do not store full card numbers or bank credentials.
- Usage data — general information such as pages visited, features used, and device or browser type, which helps us maintain and improve the Services.
- Health data (SABABAT Office only) — where a doctor or health professional shares patient health information with us to perform a clinical statistical analysis, that data is collected and handled under a separate agreement, described in Section 3.
2. How We Use Personal Data
We use the personal data we collect for the following purposes:
- To provide, analyze, and maintain our Services — for example, to improve research standards.
- To improve and develop our Services and conduct research — for example, to develop new features.
- To personalize and customize your experience on the platform.
- To communicate with you, including support requests, service updates, and administrative messages.
- To process payments, prevent fraud, and keep the Services secure.
- To comply with our legal and regulatory obligations.
3. Disclosure of Personal Data
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We may disclose personal data in the following circumstances:
- Vendors and service providers — companies that support our business operations and perform certain services on our behalf, such as hosting, payment processing, and communications.
- Marketing partners — to assist us in meeting business operations needs, subject to the confidentiality and data protection terms we require of them.
- Government authorities — where required to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, safety, and property of Abbadh Labs, our users, or others.
Health data and the Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
Health data is treated differently from the research and statistical data described above. Where a doctor or other health professional shares patient health information with us in order to carry out a clinical data analysis through SABABAT Office, that disclosure is governed by a separate, signed Business Associate Agreement between Abbadh Labs and the healthcare provider. Health data covered by a BAA is handled under the additional safeguards set out in that agreement, in addition to this Policy. Healthcare providers who require a BAA can reach us using the contact details in Section 7.
4. Data Controls, Your Rights & Retention
You have rights over the personal data we hold about you, including the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Delete your personal data, subject to our legitimate business and legal obligations.
- Withdraw consent you previously gave us, at any time.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 7.
Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as we need it to provide the Services to you, or for other legitimate business purposes, such as resolving disputes, and maintaining safety and security.
5. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page whenever we make changes, and where changes are material, we will notify you through the SABABAT platform. Your continued use of the Services after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
6. Data Controller
Abbadh Labs LTD acts as the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through SABABAT and SABABAT Office, unless stated otherwise in a specific agreement, such as a Business Associate Agreement covering health data.
